This has significantly affected her extremely active life style including kite-boarding and other extreme activities. She failed conservative care including multiple epidural steroid injections. Other surgeons offered her a fusion but she came to the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute for placement of a cervical artificial disc under the care of Drs. Nelson and Villavicencio. The patient underwent placement of the artificial disc without complications, went home the same day only a few hours after surgery.
